State Street is hiring an Apprentice – Accounting/Finance for its Global Accounting Operations (GAO) team. The position is available in Hyderabad and Bangalore and is focused on accounting and reporting activities within the Specialized Accounting team.
The apprentice will work with the team on day-to-day accounting activities covering Non-Hedging FX Derivatives, Loans, Repo/Reverse Repo and monthly financial close processes. The role also includes work on process re-engineering, standardization and automation.
What You’ll Do
- Support Business As Usual activities within the Specialized Accounting team.
- Work on accounting processes related to Non-Hedging FX Derivatives, Loans and Repo/Reverse Repo.
- Support monthly financial close activities for the specified products.
- Assist with SEC and regulatory reporting activities.
- Contribute to process re-engineering and standardization initiatives.
- Support automation efforts designed to reduce manual work and improve controls.
- Work with full-time team members on accounting and reporting processes and improvement projects.
What You Need
- Education background in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a relevant field.
- Strong basic accounting skills.
- Good technology skills and interest in using technology to improve processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Excel features such as pivot tables, formulas and workbook maintenance practices.
- Ability to identify problems and explore practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a structured team.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or experience in programming.
- Experience with business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of Spotfire or Tableau.
- Knowledge of data analytics, macros and data visualization or similar tools.
