You will work with senior engineers and product teams to turn requirements into software features, take part in code reviews and testing, troubleshoot application issues, and support secure development practices. The role also involves monitoring applications and maintaining technical documentation.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain modular microservices for scalable business applications.
- Build Python services for data processing and backend application logic.
- Develop Java-based service layers and integrate them with existing platforms.
- Build JavaScript features and connect frontend components with backend APIs.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and database procedures while maintaining data integrity.
- Work with senior engineers and product teams to turn technical requirements into implementation tasks.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to unit, integration and regression testing.
- Maintain technical documentation covering service contracts, data flows, configurations and operational procedures.
- Troubleshoot microservice and database issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Use application logs, metrics and dashboards to help identify performance issues.
- Follow security practices covering authentication, authorization, encryption and data handling.
- Work with stakeholders on functional requirements and incremental software improvements.
What You Need
- 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
- Strong Python development skills, including experience with relevant libraries, frameworks and coding practices.
- Hands-on Java experience for backend development, including object-oriented programming and exception handling.
- Practical JavaScript experience for user interface development, event handling, state management and API integration.
- Strong SQL knowledge, including query optimization, joins, indexing and relational data modeling.
- Understanding of microservices concepts such as service boundaries, stateless design, inter-service communication and resilience patterns.
- Familiarity with source control, continuous integration and automated build and deployment processes.
- Good communication skills when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualification
- Exposure to asset and wealth management processes is an advantage, particularly for understanding investment and portfolio-related solutions.
