Amazon is hiring a Data Engineer for its Flex Analytics team in Hyderabad. The role focuses on building and supporting data systems used by Amazon Flex, including data pipelines, analytics platforms, reporting and access to large datasets.
You will work on data architecture and processes that help maintain the accuracy, availability and quality of data used for analysis and reporting. The role requires hands-on experience with data modeling, data warehousing, ETL pipelines, query languages and scripting.
What You’ll Do
- Build and support data pipelines using Amazon and AWS technologies such as Spark, Glue, Kinesis and Redshift/Spectrum.
- Improve data architecture, data quality, monitoring and data availability.
- Work with BI Engineers to improve reporting and analysis processes.
- Build and support platforms that give business teams access to large datasets for analysis.
- Help automate reporting and data visualization processes.
- Design processes that publish data and help maintain the integrity and accuracy of analytical datasets.
- Take part in planning discussions that shape the data engineering team’s work.
What You Need
- At least 1 year of data engineering experience.
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing and ETL pipelines.
- Experience with at least one query language such as SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL or Scala.
- Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python or KornShell.
- Understanding of RDBMS, ETL, data integration, data warehousing, data governance and data lakes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark or EMR.
- Experience with an ETL tool such as Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI or Datastage.
- Experience with Python, R or Spark is highly preferred.
