Jio is hiring an FTTx Engineer for its Engineering & Technology function in Madinaguda, Hyderabad. The role is focused on field operations and maintenance of the FTTx network, including fiber infrastructure, OLT and ODN networks, transmission/IP equipment and related maintenance activities.
The position requires a BE/B.Tech in Electronics and 4–7 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have hands-on experience with fiber splicing, OTDR, LSPM and cable locator equipment, along with practical experience in fiber network operations and maintenance.
What You’ll Do
- Handle field operations and maintenance activities for the FTTx network.
- Complete OLT and ODN network HOTO activities within the required SLA.
- Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance for the assigned network scope.
- Plan and monitor the availability of spares, TMI and tools according to design requirements.
- Manage calibration of TMI equipment.
- Resolve O2A issues assigned to the O&M team.
- Coordinate and provide technical support to FRT and technician teams.
- Coordinate with local authorities, building owners and cross-functional teams including Construction, Home Care, Business and MSP teams.
- Handle material-related activities for the assigned scope.
What You Need
- BE/B.Tech in Electronics.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, OTDR, LSPM and cable locator equipment.
- Experience in fiber network operations and maintenance.
- Experience with operations and maintenance of transmission/IP network equipment.
- Good understanding of fiber-optic communication.
- Basic knowledge of transmission, DLC and OLT equipment.
